The 2021 Annual Meeting of BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society) took place 6-9 October in Orlando, FL with an option to attend virtually. Ozgenur Celik, our fourth-year undergraduate student researcher, and Tolu Akinade, our MD/PhD candidate attended the conference. Ozgenur successfully gave an oral presentation as a second author on behalf of her lab mentor Dr. Danielle Huang. She has been working with her for two and a half years. She discussed the research associated with Dr. Huang’s latest unpublished manuscript “Engineering Microencapsulated Human Hepatocyte-like Cell Spheroids Using Droplet Microfluidics”. Tolu also gave an oral presentation on her breast cancer nanomedicine project.
